Dallas Buyers Club: 2018 NFL Draft (Defensive Linemen)

Over the next couple of days, I’ll be breaking down a couple of the positions for this year’s NFL Draft Series with draft grades included (where I think they should be drafted). Anyway, here it is…

Part 1: Running backs

Part 2: Receivers

Part 3: Cornerbacks

Before we move onto the list, there’s one thing to clear up. The grade is given on a Defensive Lineman “Richter Scale” to 4.5 The higher the number the more destructive the player. Anything at 4.2 causes problems but lacks great pass rushing skills.

1. Bradley Chubb

Height: 6’4″ Weight: 269

Bonus: best defensive prospect in the draft

Grade: 4.4

2. Vita Vea (DT)

Height: 6’5″ Weight: 332

Bonus: wrecking ball

Grade: 4.4

3. Marcus Davenport

Height: 6’5″ Weight: 259

Bonus: explosive off the line/quickness

Grade: 4.35

4. Arden Key

Height: 6’5″ Weight: 238

Bonus: fast and unrelenting, not as strong as Davenport, might be best in OLB role

Grade: 4.3

5. Harold Landry

Height: 6’2″ Weight: 252

Bonus: already veteran type pass rushing moves

Grade: 4.25

6. Maurice Hurst (DT)

Height: 6’1″ Weight: 292

Bonus: strong with some decent pass rushing moves

Grade: 4.2

7. Time Settle (DT)

Height: 6’3″ Weight: 329

Bonus: quick first step

Grade: 4.2

8. Sam Hubbard

Height: 6’5″ Weight: 270

Bonus: fast but not strong

Grade: 4.1
